Jazz dance is an energetic and versatile dance form that combines technique, musicality and expression in an engaging way. It challenges coordination, body control and sense of rhythm, and develops mobility and strength. The characteristic elements of jazz dance are dynamic jumps, varying rhythms and differentiated body use (isolation technique).

Jazz dance originated in the early 20th century from African-American dance traditions, and developed into a relaxed but technically demanding dance form. In addition to jazz, pop, soul and funk songs and film music are used as music, which brings versatility and variety to the classes.

Jazz dance classes include pirouettes, jumps, differentiated body use and body control exercises. Classes practice fluidity of movement, different movement qualities and coordination. The final series combine the learned techniques into a dance-like and expressive whole. The varying rhythms of the music and dynamic movements make each class diverse and inspiring.

Of the beginner 1 level classes, Saturday class (25888) is a group specifically for teens, while the Sunday class (25248) is joint with adults. Class 25888 is taught in English.
