Intensive groups of academic year 2025–26

Pisarat 11–13 years (b. 2012–2014)
The group practices together 2 x 90 min per week show dance taught by the group’s teacher Adalmiina Toivola, and in addition at least 2 x per week a freely chosen classes from our schedule.

Pohjantähdet 13–15 years (b. 2010–2012)
The group practices together 2 x 90 min per week show dance taught by the group’s teacher Sarlotta Kalliosalo, and in addition at least 2 x a week freely chosen classes from our schedule.

Tulilinnut 12–16 v. (s. 2009–2012)
The group practices together 2 x 90 min per week show dance taught by the group’s teacher, and in addition at least 2 x a week freely chosen classes from our schedule. Starting fall semester 2025 the group will be taught by Taika Rautiainen.

Velocés from 16 years (born 2009 and older)
The group practices together twice a week 2 x 90 min show dance taught by the group’s teacher Wilma Mehtonen-Laiho and at least 2 x a week freely chosen classes from our schedule.

Members of all intensive groups attend the intensive group’s dance lessons twice a week and at least two weekly lessons in ballet, show dance, contemporary dance or jazz dance. The school offers intensive students a training package at a subsidized price. The price for the next season will be confirmed during the summer and will be announced to the students of the intensive groups at that time. The price for the 2024–25 season has been €850.50 /semester. Competition trips, dance camps and possible costumes for the performances are not included in the price.

During the academic year, the groups will participate in dance competitions and shows that are deemed suitable, group by group. At the beginning of the autumn term, a joint dance camp for all intensive groups will be organized in Eerikkilä on 12-14 September 2025, and also during the summer term, each group will have its own week-long dance camp either in the city or in the rural landscape of Lapväärt near Kristiinankaupunki.

Auditions for intensive groups in 2025

Supplementary auditions for all groups for season 2025-26 will be organized Sunday April 27. Available spots are limited.
Try-outs will be organized at Leipätehdas at Kaikukatu 4 A, Helsinki, 5th floor.

The trial dance lesson/audition consists of sections characteristic of a show dance lesson. It includes a warm-up and a technique section, which assesses the student’s coordination ability and musicality. The audition also evaluates the applicant’s own creativity, perseverance and teamwork skills.

Deadline to register for the auditions is Thursday, April 24.

We will inform all applicants of the result of the audition during week 20. Those selected to the groups are expected to commit to the group for the entire next academic year 2025–26.

We hope that the selected students will participate in the summer courses organized in the summer of 2025, if possible.

The Pisarat city camp will be organized as a day camp 2.6.–6.6. at the Kasarmitori location. The camp price is €230.00 (lunch included).

The Pohjantähdet week-long rural camp will be organized in Lapväärt 30.7.–5.8. The camp price (€350.00) includes tuition, accommodation and meals.

The Tulilinnut city camp will be organized as a day camp 31.7.–1.8. & 4.8.–6.8. at the Leipätehdas location. The camp price is €195.00.

The Velocés city camp will be organized as an evening-focused camp 2.6.–6.6. at the Leipätehdas location. The camp price is €165.00.
